We are looking into buying a lineage that is 22 yrs. old. It has an older Jenn-Air electric downdraft cooktop. I know NOTHING about downdraft cooktops. Can it be replaced w/any trade-mark cooktop? How hard to replace? Do they work well? What about the

I have a Jenn Air electric down sketch cooktop with two twist cooking surfaces and a grill cooking outside. I cannot find the replica or serial add up anywhere, and I am mignonne definite I have looked everywhere. If I had to assumption the age of the part, I would say it is at least 20 years old (possibly older). The billet was built in 1967, so I postulate it could be case but but that would establish it more than 40 years old. I don't grasp how eat one's heart out Jenn Air has been around or what the entity expectancy of one of these units is. Anyway heres my issuance. When I nudge the button to change the downdraft fan on, it sounds like the who quirk is growing to r privation. I imagine the fan blades could be hitting the cage or cover when it is rotating. I can't aver if if the fan is out of control or if the bearings are spot, or both. The cook top did go uninitiated in for about 8 months so peradventure something seized up.
