The FoodSaver works maximum effort with foods that are cubic enough that they don't breakdown when they're sealed in the bag, although some softer foods can be pre-frozen and then vacuum-wall-to-wall. It's also a noble way to save latest vegetables that are contemporary to be frozen. I haven't had much incident using it to reservation most recent vegetables or herbs in the fridge, and I'd doubtlessly use the OSO Unfledged Aliment Storage Containers for that.
I use my foodsaver much like you do. I well-grounded about using a folded publication towel at the top of the wetter foods as a block so liquids aren't sucked up into the gang, but are sucked into the critique towel. It well-deserved freezes with the catch of the rations. I have to do that with argument turkey. I also accomplished about tooth-chattering chili (or soup or chafe) in an frank bag first, and then sealing it once it's frozen. I now buy rolls of generic bag manageable through ebay - for a fraction of the fetch of foodsaver bags or rolls.
