Is a top freezer more energy efficient than a bottom freezer, when comparing same size & functions?

I am looking for a refrigerator to succeed my top freezer one. A friend is very happy with her bottom freezer and suggest me get one. But I am more energy converned.

In prevalent top freezer models use less energy because the compressor which generates heat is below the 40 somewhat fridge section. In bottom freezer models the heat given off by the compressor is closest to the 20 order freezer, which makes the system
