What's the best way to cook a steak using an indoor grill?

I use a Hamilton Littoral indoor grill. It works great, but steaks come out bland. What are some ways I can ground the flavor of steak when cooking on this particular type of grill?

not friendly with that type of grill, but i am assuming its a clamshell, similar to a george super, which are horrible for cooking steaks because you have no control over the temperature, and generally speaking those types of grills dont get hot enough
